TE Preferences 1.1.21

What’s new

  • New page for scoped object
There is a new page to manage the scoped object. The aim of the page is to filter out the relevant objects for the certain form and to exclude the irrelevant ones. This will make it easier to find the right object for the person filling out the form.

First step is as always to select your scoped object type in the settings page.

Once the settings are made, the design is done and the form is saved, the new page for scoped objects is accessible from the left hand menu.

The page contain two tabs, the first tab shows all included objects, meaning ALL objects before any exclusions are made. Choose to select all, deselect all or select random ones with the checkboxes in the table, then choose to “exclude selection”. The excluded selection of objects will now be shown in the “exclude” tab and are optional to include again.

A faster way to fint relevant objects to include is to use the filter just above the table to the right.

  • Object counter in the datasource element
There is an object counter implemented in the datasource element to give the designer an understanding of how many objects there will be in the object selector. The fewer objects, the easier to find the right one when filling out the form.

  • Unable to save form with more than 20.000 objects
There is also a limit implemented for how many objects there can be in one datasource in order to secure a good user experience. The limit is set to 20.000 objects. By using the different filters the number of objects can easily be narrowed down to a more reasonable number.

Improvements

  • Pre-loading objects
Directly when you enter the page to fill out a form the objects starts to load in the background. This is another improvement made in order to secure a good user experience.

  • Field value rendered on all rows in a table section
When filling out a form with a table section, you can now select all rows that should contain the same filed value, select it ones and the value will rendered on all the selected rows.

  • Calendar jumps when using short cuts
When using the short cuts shift+ for moving an event in the connected section, the calendar now jumps to the next week when moving the event from a Sunday to a Monday the week after.

  • Event calendar element removed
The element “Event Calendar” has been removed since a connected section is replacing its purpose.

  • Improved filter logic
When using a datasource element and selecting certain object fields, it is now possible manage all fields in the object filter below, also the unselected ones.
