TE Preferences 1.6.0

What’s new

The main focus for this release has been on implementing object relations into TE Preferences. The object relations that can be set up in TE Preferences are dependent on the ones available in TE Core. A release demo (in Swedish) explaining relations in TE Preferences can be found here: Release demo 2021-09-06

Configuration

In order to apply the relations available in TE Core this needs to be configured in TE Preferences. This is done in the settings tab → relations. Select two types and relate to one another. Please contact your customer success manager if you need further guidance. Don’t forget to save.

In form designer

Once the configuration is done in the settings, the relations can be set up in the form designer. Start by adding two datasources and select types which are related. When two datasources with related types are identified in a form, an option to select “Object relations” appears. Select the datasource element with the related type in the dropdown.

With the example given in the printscreen above, all related courses to the selected teacher will be shown to the submitter. The submitter can easily select to remove the “show relations” option in the object selector, top right corner, and then receive the full list of all available objects for that type.

Relate to primary object and between sections

If e.g “course” would be the primary object of a form and this again is related to “teacher”, this relationship can also be set up in the form designer. As soon as two related types are identified on a form the option to relate will appear, this also goes for the primary object as well as between different sections.

In order for the relation to work both ways, meaning the submitter can select teacher first and then get related courses, or vise versa, select course first and then get related teachers, the relation needs to go both ways. So in this example, select the “teacher element” in the datasource for course and the “course element” in the datasource for teacher.
